- Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month
- Organizers of “Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month” are gearing up for January 2011 when snow resorts and Nordic centers throughout the U.S. will be offering free or very affordable programs that enable children and adults to learn a snow sport. Four national organizations and 22 state and regional associations in the snow sports industry started “Learn a Snow Sport Month” in 2009. More than 20,000 people took advantage of the program. The idea behind Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month is to encourage people to take a lesson from a professional instructor at a local venue. Most are serviced by the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors who are trained to teach all levels from beginners to the more experienced as well as adaptive and special needs individuals.
